September Cuddle Bear Match

September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. Usborne Books & More has an amazing product called Cuddle Bear, and a portion of the proceeds for every book, bear or set of both goes to the Scott Carter Foundation, researching childhood cancer. The organization has made major progress over the past few years thanks to generous donations from UBAM (of course, thanks to our customers!).

This online event is open to anyone anywhere that would like to purchase a Cuddle Bear Book, Bear or Set and help bless others at the same time. First off, as mentioned, a portion of the proceeds for every sale of Cuddle Bear items goes directly to the Scott Carter Foundation. But also, UBAM will match every sale of this event by 50% so that even more books and bears make it to kids who will LOVE them! So, simply making a purchase for yourself this month, helps in multiple ways!

Cuddle Bear Drive for Ohana Ministries, wrap-up

I just wanted to, once again, thank everyone that participated in my Cuddle Bear Drive.  Can I just say that my family and friends are amazing?!  They are.  Together, we were able to raise the money (matched 50% by Usborne Books & More!) for 21 Cuddle Bears and 21 Cuddle Bear books for the children of Ohana Ministries.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month and I wanted to do something special.  Since a portion of all sales of Cuddle Bear goes to the Scott Carter Foundation I knew I needed to start there.  So, I reached out to people I know, asking them to donate $25 to cover a set (book and bear) and so many stepped up, it was beautiful.  Then, we were able to use the UBAM grant matching program to get even more sets on top of that. 

I partnered with Ohana Ministries because I wanted to give back to an organization local to me that was helping to make a difference in the lives of kids.  Ohana is a foster care/adoption support ministry.  They work with families who are thinking of fostering, are already fostering/adopting, or families that are trying to keep their children in their homes.  These precious kids have been through so much in their lives, I just wanted them to have something extra to hold on to and to reassure them that they are truly loved.

Once the sets were delivered, I had the privilege of visiting with the organization during a support meeting.  The families were so sweet and grateful for the gifts, and the kids instantly fell in love with the bears and books!!!  I am thankful to my company, Usborne Books & More, for making this possible through the partnership they have with Scott Carter Foundation and the fantastic grant-matching program we offer!

Fundraising for Moore, OK Tornado Victims!

My company, Usborne Books & More, is based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma, so you can imagine, like most of us, they were devastated to hear about the tornado destruction in Moore earlier this month.  As consultants, we have been challenged by our Home Office to help them raise $100,000 to be given to the Moore Public Schools Foundation. They are a non-profit, tax-exempt organization and, as the official donation branch of the school district, they work directly with Moore Public Schools.

We are using our Cards for a Cause Fundraising program to make this possible.  I am running my campaign today through Friday, June 14th, so please contact me quickly if you are interested in participating. 

The boxes of cards are $30 each, and include a keep-sake box along with 30 high-quality, beautifully embellished greeting cards and envelopes.  There are two different types of boxes: All-Occasion or Kid's.  The kid's cards do not include occasions like anniversaries or "get well," and are designed to be given to kids and/or by kids.  The All-Occasion features, well... all occasions, including some blank cards!

These boxes of cards cannot be individually shipped, so I'm looking for participants who are nearby in the DFW area only right now.  I need to sell at least 15 boxes of cards to help Usborne Books & More reach that $100,000 donation!  Will you help me and my company help the children of Moore, Oklahoma?

Schools, Libraries & Organizations!

Just wanted to post a reminder about the other programs we offer in addition to direct sales and home parties.  We also work with schools, libraries and organizations to provide free books or cash!

Book Fairs - We can set up physical or online book fairs for a school.  The school gets 25-50% of their sales back in FREE books!  

Reading Incentive - Our Reach For the Stars Reading Incentive program, gives back 100% of the donations collected in FREE books, half to the students and half the school.  An easy and fun way to get kids excited about reading and put books directly into their hands!

50% Grant Matching Program - Literacy For A Lifetime is a program set up to use grants and donations to get a school, library or organization even MORE books!  For example, an organization received $500 in grant money to use towards books.  If spent with us, we'll give that organization $750 in books for that $500!

Fundraising - Any organization, group or person can take advantage of our Cards for a Cause Fundraiser.  We offer a high quality keepsake box of cards for $30 and the organization (if non-profit) keeps $13 of that per box!  For-profit organizations get to keep about $10.50 per box.  No up front money required, this makes for a quick, easy and profitable fundraiser for your group!
