Merry Christmas!

My family and I usually have a very small, quiet Christmas celebration, and this year is no different.  My parents will come over for dinner, we'll all go to our church's Christmas Eve Service and then come back for dessert and gift exchange.  On Christmas Morning, my boys will wake up and enjoy a stocking surprise and gifts from us and their other grandparents who live out of state.  We enjoy a laid-back day with yummy food and just spending some quality time together.  I am definitely looking forward to celebrating the true reason for Christmas - Jesus' birthday and precious gift of salvation.

I pray you have a very Merry Christmas this year spent the way you want to spend it.

Happy First Day of Fall!

Yes!  It's finally here.  I love Fall.  It's my favorite season!  Beautifully changing leaves, pumpkins everywhere (oh yes, I love me some pumpkins!), the scents, the tastes, the colors, the feeling!  I just love it!  So, happy Fall, y'all!!

Celebrating 25 years of UBAM, National Convention 2014...

I spent this past weekend with my Usborne Buddies in Paradise (aka Tulsa, OK) for National Convention.  Usborne Books & More celebrated it's 25th Anniversary this year and they went CRAZY for convention.  It was so much fun.  Despite hotel issues (which were themselves cray-cray), the whole experience was just what I hoped.  I was able to further bond with some of my teammates, including new ones!  We got great training, received a bunch of new titles and just had a pure blast! I am definitely motivated to promote to Team Leader in the VERY near future and am definitely gonna work towards earning a trip to IRELAND!  Oh yes, bring it on!

My family does an Advent study and countdown to Christmas each year... we've done it many different ways.  One of the neatest ones I've seen, and plan on doing, is giving the kids a Christmas book every day, December 1st to December 25th, and reading it together as a family.  Wrap each book so they're a surprise... and kids LOVE unwrapping presents. The sight of 25 wrapped books waiting for them will be so amazing!  You could also do this for the 12 days of Christmas as well!  The titles don't have to be Christmas, either.  Do what works best for you and your family!
